External Power Start
Would one of the KA pilots mind going through the start procedure when using a GPU? I noticed the checklist states to start both engines, then disconnect the GPU, but in the real aircraft, I have noticed the pilot start the left engine, disconnect the GPU, then start the right engine due to the location of the external power plug in relation the prop. In this case, do both GEN switches still remain off and props feathered until both engines are online or is the left GEN switched on prior to starting the right engine?
Thank you,
Andrew

Re: External Power Start
Hi,
Starting a second engine without GPU is performed by first turning Gen switch of running engine to Reset/On then moving Condition Lever to High Idle so the running generator power can assist the battery with starter operation. As a result a cooler start is to be expected.
