Pilot 3D-models are to small.

Very minor thing but maybe you want to look into it down the line: the models for the pilots are too small compared to the aircraft.
Normally if you look at pictures and videos, the cockpit is very cramped and the shoulders are close together. On this model it almost looks like an airliner cockpit from the outside; very spacious and roomy with a large center pedestal in between.

The cockpit is spacious, a pain to get into at times because of the lower console, but once seated one has plenty of room to not rub shoulders.

Way more room than in a CE500 or LJ35.

Ok ok, you know better for sure. I have to ask my instructor buddy who flies a 350i for a living to give me a tour I think ;).

How does one actually get past that huge console anyway? Use the cover to assist sliding your butt past the console's switches and knobs?

Without kicking, stepping on and breaking anything. :)

If you look carefully in this photo you can see the cover the lifts from the back of the lower pedestal and covers everything. It is designed to be stepped on. It also works great as the pilot's tray table and makes maintenance cringe when you pour your coffee.

Thanks Ken. So my supposition was right. That cover makes it easier at least!

My best friend is a retired corporate pilot who flew Lear 35's for a large part of his career. He's just a bit over 6' tall, but thin as a fence post, but even so tells me that getting into the left seat was a real contortionist's act! During his career he managed to pick up just about everything a pilot could certify for, only excluding large airliners. :ugeek:

•Pilot : Private - Airplane Single Engine Land
•Pilot : Private - Airplane Single Engine Sea
•Ground Instructor - Advanced
•Ground Instructor - Instrument
•Mechanic - Airframe
•Mechanic - Powerplant
•Pilot : Commercial - Glider
•Pilot : Airplane Single Engine Land
•Pilot : Airplane Multiengine Land
•Flight Instructor - Airplane Single And Multiengine
•Flight Instructor - Instrument Airplane
•Pilot : Commercial - Rotorcraft-Helicopter
•Pilot : Commercial - Instrument Helicopter
•Flight Instructor - Rotorcraft-Helicopter

From what I hear the old Lears are really a can with wings.

Ken, have you flown or at least went into an Avanti at some point?
How does it compare in terms of cockpit size? From all I know, the cabin is much more spacious but I have no real world reference of how cumbersome the King Air is to move around. Does the 1,45m (or 4.something feet on you side of the pond ;) ) of cabin height make moving around hard?

I got a chance to see a P.180 at Stevens Aviation in Greensville, SC when we picked up a KA300 coming out of maintenance. It was the weirdest sounding Turboprop I ever heard. Unfortunately, it was doing taxi checks and our time was limited so I was not able to peek inside.

I did get a chance to sit in the cockpit of a Starship 2000, it was very spacious for a small turboprop, not Dash 8 spacious, but plenty of room once you crawled upfront.
