VNAV Direct

Anyone figured out how to make the VNAV Direct work with this version of the PL21? I understand the usual method would be to input an altitude next to the fix (where you want to place the altitude restriction). Next, if you want to vnav direct to that altitude, you simply press Direct key and then execute. At that point, the PL21 should display a diamond on the PFD to show you the direct vnav path to the altitude at that fix. I do all these things, and MV King Air will not display the VNAV diamond.

Is there an extra step I'm missing?

VNAV is selected on the FGP.

I know but he is taking about the VNAV direct feature you can use via the the direct page on the FMC.

Target altitude selection in this mode is done on DIR TO page. If you press DIR key on FMS, there is ALT SEL field at the bottom. It can be changed using altitude preselector knob. What you set there, will clear all existing restrictions between current position and selected waypoint.
This is theory however. I'm not using any VNAV options until SP becomes available. BTW. DIR TO cannot be a climb and also refuse to turn KA into a dive bomber.
