Are all of you running EA? I find HDR impacts interior color more then anything. I’m on latest content and my cockpit is very dark in middle day—I end up turning lights on so I can see.

Re: Panel way to dark [resolved]
EA or non-EA the situation in P3Dv5.1 is the same: dark panel.
KA350i is grounded by other reasons too. My GTX 1060 6GB cannot support this aircraft graphic demands. With P3Dv4.5 I made a Round the World Tour with her (panel okay!).
Regards

Re: Panel way to dark [resolved]
The original post was regarding V4 and the problem with upgrading P3DV4 but NOT installing the content.
V5 is another issue all together. The same textures should not look darker in V5 but they do. It's something LM changed in V5 rendering.
The newest version of Windows will net you quite a bit of more free GPU memory if you haven't updated. Also if it has been a while since you installed the KA then you should try a new install that will download new trueglass and reallight. It is also recommended to use the legacy render files.
That being said 6GB is kind of low for this aircraft in V5. You could try disabling TG. Normally I use about 5.1gb with this aircraft in V5, problems can happen if you have a lot of addons and scenery. If the GPU can't get a big enough block of VRAM.....ctd

Re: Panel way to dark [resolved]
Is there a known fix for this (dark panel) issue for those of us using P3D V5. During the day I can only see areas on the panel that are in direct sunlight. If I turn up all of the light controls on the overhead the panel is usable. mostly. Thanks!

Re: Panel way to dark [resolved]
Turn off EA and turn off internal vehicle cast and recieve shadows in the lighting options of P3D. If you don't want to have those off all the time I suggest making a new profile for the KA in P3D so you can easily switch without having to tinker each time.

I will not turn EA off, so my workarounds for this are either to just use the panel lighting and/or use FSlabs spotlights (free)sailorflyguy wrote: ↑Tue Feb 16, 2021 5:26 pmIs there a known fix for this (dark panel) issue for those of us using P3D V5. I also set up Spotlights to do the job. Really wonderful VC when you can see it. The trouble with Spotlights is that you can tweak it forever if you don't reach a point where you say it's good enough!

Going forward our products are going to based on V5....so V4 stuff will be a bit lighter. Pick your poison I guess.

Also, for anyone experiencing dark VC cockpits with EA in v5.2, the mod posted in this thread here may help ==>>> http://www.prepar3d.com/forum/viewtopic ... 2&t=142594
