Ext Lights @ Night

Ext lights are hammering my frame rates at night.

With a night setting, ext lights off (interior on) I see fps of around 50 at a default, remote empty airfield. As I turn on exterior lighting that drops, all the way to 14 fps with every exterior light on.

If I set up as for a landing with LANDING/ NAV / RECOG / BEACON / STROBE / TAIL FLOOD all on I am get 16fps. RECOG seems to be a heavy hit - on/off makes about an 8 fps difference, and TAIL FLOOD also seems to have an impact. Turning both of those off I can get to the mid / high 20's at the remote field.

I know the lighting may cause a hit, but, I do not see this type of impact in other high end AC.

Interior lighting seems fine - again I was seeing 50 fps at night at a remote / default field with interiors all on.

What sort of antialiasing setting are you using? That can have a dramatic impact on lighting performance (surprisingly).

FWIW, all exterior lights are based on default P3D effect files (.fx).

Been using 4xSSAA w/o issues in other major add-ons, but, it indeed is making a huge difference in the KA. Easy enough to change as needed now that cause seems pinned down.

Thanks.
