KA B350i installation error
Hi
I keep getting an error message when I try to install this beta version: "the older version of King Air 350i cannot be removed...".
I couldn't uninstall the old version (via the registry) so I deleted the old version of of the alpha folder manually in my P4D v4.5 installation - as well as old files in Appdata/ Roaming data, and ran the installer as Admin, but it made no difference. MVAMS was not running by the way.
Appreciate your help.
Kind regards,
Ray

If I am not mistaken, you need to uninstall from the Windows Control Panel, Add or Remove Programs

Re: KA B350i installation error
HI Sergio,
Thanks for your reply.
I had not been able to locate any Milviz entries in Ad/Remove Programs - not even the T310 and DHC2 which I also have.
I have removed all references to the KA350 in Appdata/local/MVAMS and Appdata/Roaming/Milviz.
Still getting the error message.
Kind regards,
Ray

Is there a King Air entry in your registry?

Hi,
No there isn't.
Is there any way to look for what it is trying to uninstall?

Re: KA B350i installation error
ps
Actually I found quite a few King Air B350i entries; mostly installer related keys - are they the ones? (they are in a several places...)
I am loath to just delete keys, so some guidance would be good.
I am also wondering why there is no King Air listed in my Windows Add/Remove Programs?

Re: KA B350i installation error
I thunk the alpha may have had a different installer type. I would advise using a registry cleaner like CC (it's free but comes with bloatware that you can avoid if you are careful during installation) it will find all the orphans and allows you to choose which keys you want to delete.

Hi Doodlebug
Thanks.
So I used CC Cleaner, and it did indeed find all the previous B350i entries, which I deleted. So that was good. Then I rebooted
However it still gives me the same message.
Thanks.

If you still have the Alpha installer, please try running it and choosing "Uninstall" in the yellow box at the bottom. This installer wrote no registry entries, but rather deleted only the files and folder names it actually installed.

Re: KA B350i installation error
Hi All
Thanks for your help Using CC Cleaner did it! I managed to install and load it for a short flight.
As a Beta tester it would be good to know what’s actually been implemented. I get the lights aren’t all working, and presumably the FMS PL21 is work in progress.
However as per the Alpha version the basic autopilot still does not work as far as I could tell. Just climb to an altitude and maintain a heading would be a good start, unless I missed something.
Some notes would help.
Kind regards
Ray

If something doesn't work that isn't mentioned in the notes, please let us know!

Hi Oisin,
Just to let you know, all is working great now. I flew a short flight from KSAN to KPSP via a flight plan I entered and it did just fine; climbed to FL150. Really coming on very well now. Really apprecaite all your help.
Sorry I was a bit hasty in judging ealier. - I had to snatch v short go's between working and sleeping...
A couple of small things - probably my errors as I still don't know the plane well at all... the fonts on flight plan seemed too large to comfortably fit all the letters of the flight plan waypoints on a line. Also whgen I fist brough the plane up cold and dark, the displays remained black until I reloaded the plane...
But apart from that it's a really nice machine - sounds are nice and flies really well. Maybe I'll try some arrivals and departures and ILS tomorrow and maybe see if radar/ wx overlays work yet.
Kind regards,
Ray
