V5 still has issues with chrome and lighting effects. Not all of it can be corrected on our end. Turning off dynamic reflections helps a little but it still will never look as good as V4 until some things get sorted on on V5.

Impossible to load King Air in P3D V5 with 4Gb Video Card. GPU stop working at the beginning of the loading...

I've tested with settings at the minimum and I'm at 2.9 / 3.4 of GPU Ram on default scenery.

With the Fslabs and normal settings (So not at the minimums), I was at 2 / 3.4 of GPU Ram.

...and that is based on V4. I don't think we're selling it yet as a V5 product until it comes out of beta. I'm sure the requirements will be higher for V5.

Installed in V5 the new setup. The colors haVE been improved but to my mind there are still too dark.
The thing which really worry me is the VAS usage. Cold and dark at one of the default airport the VAS of GPU is around 7.2.
I've never passed with other addons 6.2 (fslabs, pmdg and so on).
I've a GTX 1080TI.

Is there any chance to optimize the VAS?

It is definitely Real Light. With the last installer when real light was not installed correctly I had no issues at all. And I have very moderate settings.

Just did a quick flight and my VRAM maxed out... 6.7GB available got consumed at night on P3Dv5 with the KA. I am running the sim at 2048x2048 resolution.
No problem with other aircraft but I guess its still being tweaked..

Just my feedback.

Hi all,

Collin posted a brand new Beta RealLight version over at the TFDI 717 Discord testers area and it is very good on vram. My initial load tests with TrueGlass disabled are currently: KA latest default installer loading up with 5.7 gb vram, with new RealLight Beta going down to 4.0 c&d and 4.7 systems running (and even lower). Me think this is going into a very good direction but perhaps I leave it better to Collin to officially spread the good news and the plans.

I am working on some other improvements and an updated version of TrueGlass to attempt to further reduce the impact. I expect to have updates out to test today.

Please try the attached files. These zips contain TrueGlass and RealLight rewritten natively to support DirectX 12/P3Dv5 (instead of the port that was vacuuming VRAM). To install, extract the content of each zip to your main simulator directory - if you are doing it correctly, you should be asked to replace files.

In my initial testing, I saw a reduction of over 1GB of total video memory consumed. In my case, it was from the shared video memory (not dedicated), but results will likely vary and you should notice an improvement in stability either way.

Did not have folders in the main directory. Do you have zu run the real light beta installer to get them?

I will reinstall the latest beta tonight and have a look again.
