Re: DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE HAS BEEN REMOVED
In the order of your answer:
- I uninstalled KA and reinstalled with unticking TrueGlass. Can you confirm that this does indeed remove it from the installation or is there someting else to do ?
- My setup is a GTX1080 8Gb with i7-8700K @ 3.70GHz and 32Gb DDR4
- I did not try a TDR fix (had to google it to find what it is), because it seems going too deep into the system for me and I am afraid to completely crash my system by mistake. I prefer having not to use the KA than to risk anything with a system that works perfectly otherwise. As for many of us simmers, I have to use a PC to enjoy simming, I am not enjoying fiddling with the PC with the sim as a good excuse to do it ...
- My windows is up to date version 2004 / 19041.630 with nVidia drivers up to date as well.
- GPU scheduling is on, I have selected P3D high perf as you suggested. Result is the same: nearly immediate crash in EA (couple of seconds), able to fly some time in legacy. For info, the test flight I am doing is departing from a simple non add-on airport (EBBE) without ASP3D weather in clear skies, turning right direction EBBR wich has JustSim add-on. When approaching EBBR and sim starst drawing airport, crashes. If I add graphic intensive stuff (ASP3D in real wx, dusk...) will crash earlier. All the same test flights with PMDG NGXu: no problem.
- As I said in my third point, the biggest frustration I have as a simmer is that I spend as much time updating, tweaking, fixing than flying. That is why I had great hopes on MSFS. But that is another story

Re: DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE HAS BEEN REMOVED
As a quick test you can rename or delete the TG and RL folders in \Prepar3D v5\SimObjects\Airplanes\MV_King_Air_350i\
You can also try turning off render to transparent surfaces in MVAMS
I find may of the people encountering this error are running unlimited FPS which can cause a heavy load on the GPU. One of the devs suggested setting an FPS limit ( even if it is a limit you can't reach like 90 FPS)

Re: DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE HAS BEEN REMOVED
Did all that (target frame rate was already limited to 60...), no change: near immediate crash in EA, crash after some time in legacy.
I am now putting the KA aside to do some real flying, and wait to see if you can come up with a fix that would solve the problem as, from what I can see on the forum, I am far from being the only one.
Please do it, because you have an absolute winner with this product !!!

Re: DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE HAS BEEN REMOVED
There is a newer version of Trueglass in beta at the moment that may help some people with this problem. Obviously it can't correct not having enough GPU memory or glitchy hardware but Colin has been working with feedback from LM to get any issues that may be on our end ironed out.
Currently it is being tested on the TFDI 717. Keep your eyes posted on the support forum here for any future updates. I can't give any timeframe as to when an update will come.

Re: DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE HAS BEEN REMOVED
Thanks for having a look. I understand that sim software is very demanding on hardware and that your KA is high level stuff, but my sytem is not that bad and I am far from running P3D with the sliders to the max. All other add-ons I have are running very, very smoothly so there must be something specific to the KA.

To keep you in touch:
Just did that, clean install and no change, still crashes...
I have my doubts that TrueGlass is the reason behind this problem

Re: DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE HAS BEEN REMOVED
Good luck m.jobe, i tried everything as well, haven't managed any time in this plane past trying to troubleshoot crashing.
I have a 3090, and if I turn off variable refresh rate, it got rid of DXGI errors, but now just CTDs with no message. Still waiting to see if there is any log or debugging i can do from Milviz. Give that a try if you have not done so yet.
Has to date been the most expensive plane I've purchased and the first one I haven't been able to use at all.

Re: DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE HAS BEEN REMOVED
I apologize we have not some to a resolution on this yet. Asking again if there is anything else that can be done or looked at. CTD are really hard to diagnose, especially if you have no crash log in Event viewer.

Re: DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE HAS BEEN REMOVED
The only thing remaining to try is using the Legacy Render files as it did help some people in the public beta. This is in the manual as well but gets overlooked often.
Prepar3D v5\SimObjects\Airplanes\MV_King_Air_350i\Panel\LegacyRender
Backup your files in the E:\Prepar3D v5\SimObjects\Airplanes\MV_King_Air_350i\Panel\ folder then copy the contents of the LegacyRender folder into your panel folder. You can also try turning off the render to transparent setting in MVAMS ( don't do before switching files or it will have no effect).

Re: DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE HAS BEEN REMOVED
Thank you. This has fixed it. About 30fps more and a no crash 4 hour flight.
When you say it's in the manual that's a little unfair, if you are pointing that at me?
It says
SLI
To use the KA350i on a SLI-equipped computer, the recommended advice is to
use the alternate panel.cfg(s) and DLLs from the P3Dv4\SimObjects\Airplanes\
MV_KA_350\Panel\LegacyRender\ folder.
And I have a single graphics card so I would never even think to try it.
I'm not sure what the difference is, but for a 10900k 3900 setup, Legacy Render seems to work great.

Re: DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE HAS BEEN REMOVED
As this seemed to have resolved my DXGI issue too, (10850K/2080Ti) I'd be interested to understand what the difference with these files is please?!

Re: DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE HAS BEEN REMOVED
No , not directed at you at all. I agree the wording in the manual isn't very clear. I was parroting what the developer told me

I'm going to ask if there can be more clarity in the manual for the Legacy Render.
