Re: Alarm horn after landing?
Hi,
That is the LG configuration alarm:
LANDING GEAR WARNING SYSTEM
The landing gear warning system is provided to warn the pilot that the landing
gear is not down and locked during specific flight regimes. Various warning
modes result, depending upon the position of the flaps.
With the FLAPS in either the UP or APPROACH position and either or both
power levers retarded below approximately 85% N1, the warning horn will sound
intermittently and the LDG GEAR CONTROL lights will illuminate. The horn can
be silenced by pressing the GEAR WARN SILENCE button located on the left
power lever. The lights in the LDG GEAR CONTROL cannot be extinguished.
The landing gear warning system will be rearmed if the power lever(s) are
advanced sufficiently.
With the FLAPS beyond APPROACH position, the warning horn and LDG GEAR
CONTROL lights will be activated regardless of the power settings, and neither
can be cancelled.
Hit BRAKES (.) to cancel the alarm, though the visual indication (red knob) remains.

Re: Alarm horn after landing?
Ok thanks for that useful information
I think thats what's happening to me on approach then. Retarding the throttles to help kill approach speed with gear still up.
Looks like the necessary action on approach therefore is Landing Gear Down before going Flaps Full or retarding Power Levers under 85% N1
Pressing on my Rudder Pedal breaks during taxi after landing doesent silence the alarm? I guess it has to be (.) specifically ?
Are you aware that the alarm continues after Battery and everything else is turned Off?
Thanks again for your help.
Andrew

Re: Alarm horn after landing?
Andrew,
The alarm should go off on the ground. I will check and fix it if necessary.
Normal practice in real descents is with low torque and N1 below 85 %, with the LG knob illuminated and the alarm cancelled.
Most important is to control descent speed, not caring much about the LG warning.
Tomas
PD: Alarm with battery off is already fixed for next HF, thanks.
