Binding the Auto Pilot Question [Answered]
I use P3D from a cockpit view which hides the cockpit, like others. The auto pilot on the aircraft work very well but my Saitek AP or other controls do not work the same way, enabling NAV for example. I am pretty good with FSUIPC and SPAD, SPAD allows custom scripts. SPAD installed a number of KA350i actions, via LVAR. I have 80% of the aircraft assigned to my hardware, however the AP commands are the ones I am having trouble with. In Virtual view and using that works great, but I am trying to get away from that. Thanks.

I will ask if there is a list of LVARS available.

Re: Binding the Auto Pilot Question
have emailed for LVARS list as well
Major problem for me
Have both Bravo a/p and a saitek multi panel neither will work with your 350i

Re: Binding the Auto Pilot Question
I do wish the LVARS also had some clue of what values work in the parameters, most of the time it is 1 or 0. I did get the AP button working on my Saitek. I used a standard simconnect online wizard. the added using a change data
Set KA350i_autopilotpower = 1 in the same command as set auto pilot master to 1 This makes the AP work and updates the PFD correctly. I just need to figure the others out. autopilotpower = 0 in the same command as set auto pilot master to 0 turns it off and updates the PFD. I have no clue if this the right thing to do but it works for the Saitek via SPAD

Re: Binding the Auto Pilot Question
? simple simconnect online wizard---Thought that was for networking? which one?i will download and read the manual.
I looked in the 350.cfg file autopilot = 2 plus some other parameters. but all the avionics are set as 2 plus 3 other values
have worked with P3d cameras and got a panel of the AP that is usable but view is angled and difficult to get on alt set button, anyway a make do until i can bind my multi panel. can you attach a file of the command you changed in the panel profile? that I can then copy add parameter and see if that works
i ran event manager in Saitek and on the 350i ALT knob it was sending AP_ALT_VAR_SET_ENGLISH with a value in INC of 10800 and DEC of 10700 tried to make it work in spad but the multi panel did not like it
so I gave that up. maybe you can do better

Re: Binding the Auto Pilot Question
In SPADNext there is Online Snippets that will load a common script to make say the AP Nav engage. Most of the time this works well but some aircrafts need tweaking. For example see attached. I am still waiting if there are LVARS created already but this one below makes the AP work and updates the PFD. The problem with this is the NAV does not work even if it is used on the aircraft directly. So there is more too it

Maybe this can help you or you can adapt his work to your own hardware. It's not an easy task as the way our aircraft work requires several things happening(sound, animation, event triggers etc), not just a single LVAR.

A agree with you, there is too much going on in the background. I am hoping to see the AP panel export possible like the FMC. I am using small monitors when needed, like the FMC

Re: Binding the Auto Pilot Question
In response to the other question since you posted here also ( I did receive your email) there is no definitive LVAR list. There are some events mapped to default P3D controls I'm trying to locate ( I stickied these before but cant find the post)

Re: Binding the Auto Pilot Question
I have found that IF the autopilot is setup using the AP panel on the aircraft and engaged with the AP button, the hardware (in my case Saitek) will work work to make changes. It just cannot be setup from the hardware, I have to use the AP panel on the aircraft. I will start looking around in Cockpit Builders to se if anyone else came across this. I will try the defaults, Thanks

Re: Binding the Auto Pilot Question
There were not too many defaults that worked as expected, but it helped some. I am hoping that the AP panel can be broken away like the other panels to a second monitor. I am very impressed with the panels that do allow a setup on another monitor, they are well done

Re: Binding the Auto Pilot Question
A payware camera program solved the AP window problem, now have a good steady view set up and can mouse it for now.
Next step I will try FSUIPC mouse macros (wont work on the Saitek ap as it is not recognised by FSUIPC) they have worked on switches like LDG lights and taxi plus have assigned autofeather but had to use two keys as could not get a compound to work even editing in the MCRO file. I will persevere with Mouse macros as it looks the route although some commands cannot be input directly and need editing in the MCRO file (there are some threads about this on the FSUIPC forum)
I also have a Virtual FIP from fipgauges for the AP and that will alter from the a/c and the multi panel but still cant get the altitude setting to change, HDG bug is ok.
I will look again at my Spad event command lines along the lines of your suggestion.
Have also gone bonkers and ordered an MCP which will still take a lot of work but at least is similar to the PL21 a/p and can be configured both by their software and FSUIPC. Expensive solution but a quality product
