KA350i grounded at P3Dv5.1

Post by Heronjr » Fri Feb 05, 2021 5:26 pm

After many happy months using the KA350i, using it in a successful round the World tour, after moving from P3Dv4.5 to P3Dv5.1 it is impossible to fly her. The only way is using all graphic sliders to LOW and turning OFF some important features. I refuse to fly in a world very similar to the first version of the Microsoft Flight Simulator (198x) in which we made flight from Chicago to New York over an evergreen flat ground.

Now I can fly a Flysimware LearJet and a RealAir Duke Turbine with non-EA and medium to ultra settings, AS3D+ASCA, obtaining constant limited 30 FPS, no crashes or stutters. I did not touch in any DLL, registry entries or simulator configuration files. Everything is in pristine conditions.

I hope in the future to fly again the KA350i in this new environment, because I think this aircraft is simply the best.

V5 uses quite a bit more VRAM than 4.5. 6GB is borderline with this aircraft.

As I have said previously the newest version of WIndows gives you a bit more headroom if you have not updated. You could also try a clean install to get the new .dlls for TG/RL or disable them ( loose icing and lighting effects though :| ) There just isn't any more optimization that we can do on this.
