MFD Chart Feature - Major Issues

Hey Guys,

I've been AFK for quite a while over the summer, and only now got the chance to update to the latest version (which now is the official release v1.2.0)

Almost everything looks good so far, apart from the CHART-Feature on the MFD:

Automatic Chart Selection
The Manual ("Milviz FMS MV-21 Guide.pdf") states:

The chart system will pre-populate available charts based on the flight plan
inserted into the FMS. For example, if you departed San Francisco Intl (SFO) via
the CITY3 SID and arrived at San Diego (SAN) via the BARET5, the system will auto
fill in the ground chart for SFO in the first AIRPORT field and the CITY3 plate in the
DEPARTURE field, and do the same for the destination airport.

This used to work with earlier versions of the beta releases (back when there was no possibility to manually select any other charts)
Now, it is not working anymore. No charts are selected automatically, when a flight plan with DEP and ARR procedures is entered and activated in the FMS. Only the "AIRPORT" chart is pre-selected, but it doesn't show the airport's ground layout, but just some random sheet of the airport briefing.

Manual Chart Selection
This is a major issue - the manual chart selection only works ONE time. Initially, when a chart field is empty (so only the two brackets [ ] are shown), it is possible to use the middle mouse button on the CCP rotary, then manually select a chart using the CCP joystick (UP/DOWN), and then select this chart by again using the middle mouse button on the CCP rotary. The name of the selected chart is then shown in turquoise.

After this, it is not possible anymore to change the selected chart, which makes the whole chart feature pretty useless....

CCP Rotary Bug
The "inner" rotary encoder of the CCP rotary seems to be wrongly coded - it doesn't move any cursor, instead it appears that any turn on this rotary has the same function as a middle mouse click onto the top of the CCP rotary. Also, even when the manual chart selection sub-dialogue is open, the outer rotary know still moves the curser of the main chart window in the background.

Selecting Chart for Other Airport
The manual states:

While the system auto populates charts for the airports in the flight plan, any
airport's charts can be looked up (provided the airport is in the database), by
simply entering the ICAO identifier of the airport into the appropriate field.

What "appropriate field" is meant here?



In conclusion, I'm sorry to say that the handling of the whole CHART feature right now is really terrible, and was even better in earlier beta versions, when at least the appropriate charts where automatically selected.

To end this with something positive - everything else seems to work perfectly fine, even the WXR!

I can't say if or when the next update may be - pending resolution of other outstanding issues. We usually don't patch for 1 non game breaking problem.
