Aircraft: KA350i latest download
Sim platform: P3D v.5.1
Operating system: Win10 Pro
Version: 20H2 build 19042.630
Unique ticket identifier: D5E8328B-0021-3A23-EB7D-54E2F0AE3BD3

My System;
My system;
Intel core i9 9900k 3.6Ghz overclocked to 5.0 Ghz- water cooled
2 x water cooled nvidia GeForce RTX 2080Ti 11GB in SLi geosynced to ASUS ROG PG278QR 2K 165Hz capped at 144Hz
2TB Samsung 970 EVO SSD + 1TB Samsung 970 EVO SSD
64GB Corsair Vengeance PRO RGB 3600MHz RAM
ASUS ROG Maximus Z390XI Hero motherboard

Windows 10 Pro v 20H2 and build 19042.630
Prep 3d V5.1
Active Sky
Traffic Global
Orbyx Scenery
UK2000 Airport Scenery

I have been waiting for this version of the KA 350i for some time and I have not been disappointed - detail and performance second to none and the appearance first class, however I have I do have one small problem and that is I cannot get the TCAS/TFC to work. It passes the TCAS test but then does not show that it is on in the MFD and to display aircraft even when they are buzzing around my ears! Turning on or off in the MCDU does not change the situation. I have attached a series of screen shots which demonstrates the point
Screenshot 14 Situation before the TCAS Test
Screenshot 15 Situation after successfully completing the test – note the RTU shows TA on and Traffic on but the MFD TCAS button is white and not on
Screenshot 16 Similar to 15 but with the TCVAS button on the MFD pressed so that it turns colour. However TCAS and Traffic remains off and no flying aircraft
Screenshot 18 Similar to 16 with the BAKA3501 parked in the middle of a very active Heathrow and not an aircraft in sight on my MFD screen

As everything else appears to be working perfectly with this aircraft perhaps I am just doing something stupid – I have no problems with the TCAS working and displaying aircraft on my Majestic Dash 8 which in some ways is a similar system.
Please advise

Hi,

Your screens are all showin TCAS OFF. In the first one I see you have your Trasponder in STDBY.

For TCAS to be operative you need to set Transponder to ON and enable ALTITUDE mode ON (in RTU-ATC screen).

Hi Tomas,
You Sir, are a gentleman and a scholar and I am, in my old age, definitely going senile!! Thank you for so delicately pointing out that not only was I not grasping the plot I had missed it completely. :oops: :roll: I can now see the aircraft buzzing round my ears!

One other small point is there anyway of slowing the aircraft down, other than using the brakes when taxiing - at the throttle on idle the aircraft soon gathers speed. Controlling the speed by braking is not a problem - good job its a simulator and I don't have to pay for the brake linings!!?

Hi Howard,

Taxi speed is controlled by moving Power Levers beyond Idle detent, into Ground Fine section (Beta position); also Condition Levers must be in Low Idle. Brakes are seldom used, only for full stop or to help in a turn (differential brakes).

Hi Tomas,

Thank you. Managed it through calibrating my Saitek system with MAMS. Trouble was that I was using the P3D control panel to control the throttle axis and the aircraft throttle did not go below idle even when at zero. Pity that there is not an audible click when you pass through detent but we cannot have everything and I am very happy with what I've got.
