NO Load-out manual (screen)

Post by Wings of Gold » Thu Jun 21, 2018 11:16 pm

I have been exceptionally careful downloading and installing my MV_F-SJ_Phantom_II into P3Dv4. As I was a confirmed Beta Tester, Qsh provided me a download link. Prior to using it, I: disabled my Windows defender, disabled my anti-virus, and disabled my UAC. I then downloaded and saved the "Multi-installer Standard Edition". I extracted it to a temp folder. With all the above still disabled (anti-virus could not scan the contents) I ran the executable as "Administrator" and uninstalled any previous content. I then re-ran the executable and installed the the content into where it wanted to in P3dv4 (Program Files\Prepar3Dv4). I opened Milviz MVAMs, select MD F-4J and selected "Save defaults". Did the same for the F-4S.
I ran Prepared3Dv4 as "Administrator". Once inside the game and in the F-4J, I selected "Shift + 1". Instead of the Load-out manual appearing - I saw just a gray rectangle (see attachment). How can I get the load-out manager? Without it I have no pilots, ordnance etc, Help!

Please enable Content error logging in your P3D settings and send me the log after closing the sim.

Did you install the Phantom in a separate folder outside of the simulator's folders? It currently doesn't support that.

No! I installed exactly where the installer wanted it installed. It is in:
C:\Program Files\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3Dv4\Simobjects\Airplanes\Milviz Phantom IIJ (and Milviz Phantom IIS), See attached Screenshot.

The reason I asked is because in your other post I saw this: F:\Addons\simobjects\airplanes\Milviz Phantom II J.

Make sure you remove it from there.

Also, your content error logs are too full of errors from other aircraft for the F-4 errors to be even listed. Please try disabling the other addons folder temporarily and doing the content error log again.

Hi Jonathan,
I deleted my F: drive Phantom prior to installing the present C: drive Phantom.

How should I "disable the other addons folder". Rename my F: drive addons folder?

Not quite. How did you set it up to be recognised by P3D? Disable it there.

Hi Jonathan,

Attached please find a new ContentErrors Tx file. Open attached zip folder.

I removed my Add-0n.xml file that pointed to my F: drive, so those aircraft are now unknown to P3Dv4. There are only the Phantom as well as a limited number of other aircraft in my C: Simobjects folder - so I hope you can now see the Phantom errors.

Best regards,

Bill

You sure you re-ran the sim before sending this log? Still seeing the F:\Addons list blocking up the file.

JB,

Try this one.

This should have only what you need.

Very interesting. For some reason it is trying to load the ACM gauge dll from your F:\Addons folder. Remove it (and other F-4 dlls) from the path mentioned and see what happens. You have a rogue 32bit dll there somehow from your attempt to install outside the sim.

Hi JB,

That did it! I removed the previous dll files from when I initially tried to install the Phantom on my J: drive. I now can call up my Load-out Manual. I never could find the F4E dll that it said was only 32 bit.

A related question please. If I install the new P3Dv4.1.3 into my F:/ drive (and it is then in my registry), will the Milviz Phantom installer allow me to install it in that location? I am getting really low in my C:\ drive - but have a lot of space left on my F:\ dive. If I replace the C:\ drive in my computer - I void the warranty.

Best regards,

Bill

Yes it can. But please, PLEASE make sure that the path reads "F:\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v4" and not just straight "F:\" like some of the external installs I have seen which break the installer...
