F-4JS Advanced engines shut down

Post by balis323 » Sun Nov 19, 2017 5:38 am

Just updated not sure what I did wrong... I uninstalled old F-4js and installed latest version...
Then installed ADV version (is there the std, TP, and ADV like the E?)

F-4E works fine (updated it too)

F-4js starts with INS countdown from 8sec to zero... Screen is erratic until INS reset... Then engines spool down... I'm have configuration for ready to fly... I try to restart eng but eng start (left/right toggle) forward of eng master doesn't appear to be functional... I tried to do a cold dark start no luck ( I had aircraft chalked and had GPU cart on with GENs in external...)

Eng start doesn't appear to be functioning
Tried to uninstall and reinstall several times before posting this... Any ideas???

With the ADV a bit more realism was introduced. The S/J didn't have the cartridge start capability if I recall correct. You must select the GPU from the loadout menu, then go to the Addons menu->Milviz F-4 Phantom II and signal external air. Then use the start switch to start the engines.

Hmmm.... Didn't signal for the air start.... I will try that....

But shouldn't the bird by ready to taxi.... I have it configured that way.

My F-4e is functioning as configured/expected....

I will also try the J.... I thought I read that the S was having issues from someone in another thread.

Try reloading the aircraft if the engines shutdown just after aircraft is loaded in "Ready to fly".

Ok... still doesn't work in "ready to taxi" mode... but I don't care... signaled for the air start and hark I was able to light her up and take her out...

LOVE IT!! made a few passes with and without APC... very nice around the boat... then flew an ILS at home base.

very cool airplane!

Are you loading the aircraft from another aircraft saved flight in cold and dark condition?.

Also, try to save a new flight with the J or S in Ready to Fly condition.

While I found some situations in the development where the aircraft refused to load in Ready condition now I can´t replicate your issue. So, I tend to think it´s due to a corrupted saved flight.

Loading from free flight mode.... I've never seen this issue before.

Not a big deal as long
As I can get her started .... Looks like others are having similar issues from some posts I just read...

My hats off to you guys... Troubleshooting is nightmare with all the possible variables... I like the new filter questions... Looks like it will help.
