New install, instruments blurred, won't start, FSX crashes
Just bought the F4E for stand alone FSX. I have 4 other Milviz aircraft all working perfectly fine.
A whole slew of problems is coming up with my new F4E purchase and with 23 pages of topics on the F4 support forum, I can't seem to find another user with the same issues.
1. Rear cockpit canopy won't open (minor issue)
2. some instruments are blurred and some partially blurred down the middle and the other half of same instrument is clear. (little bit larger issue)
3. All cold and dark, silent and then toggle engine master switch only and it sounds like the engine is starting up. (minor annoyance issue)
4. Toggle engine start switch and advance throttle and it really sounds like engine is starting up, for a few seconds, and then the cursor on screen starts clocking around and freezes the entire simulation, then FSX crashes and exits out back to my main desktop. (Huge, huge issue)
So far I've crashed my FSX 5 times trying to just get the plane started. I clicked on the MVAMS icon on my desktop and did the update after the first 2 FSX crashes and still 3 more after doing the update. I tried starting cold and dark and tried starting with engine running. No luck. WIth engine running, ready to go option, the engines just die and no advance of throttle does anything, and after a few seconds of sitting there, the screen freezes and then FSX crashes again.
I bet the real F4 wasn't this frustrating and troublesome. (That was a joke because it really was a beast to handle and temperamental in maintenance issues, but I am trying to have some humor over this)
Anyone know what I did wrong? I just ran the installer, it did all the work, ran the MVAMS update. I thought it was pretty easy and I have a pretty plane to look at on the ramp but nothing I can do about it, for a few seconds until my FSX crashes.
None of my other F-100, F-86, T-38, P-38 and Cessna 310 products from MIlviz have done this. They all still work great.

Did you follow all of the instructions about installing? No AV? Running as admin, Running Acceleration?

Don't know what AV is, and I am running as administrator. That is what fixed my F-86 and P-38 issue with no cockpit lightning. How do I run Acceleration? I think that is already running since I have a lot of other add-on aircraft that are all working. (PMDG aircraft, Warbird Sim aircraft and Carenado aircraft) ALl my other Milviz aircraft are working too.
As far as instructions, I just opened the installer and let it install. I didn't really do anything.

I will get to the rest of your issues once the crashes are resolved. First of all, which version of FSX are you running? Only Acceleration/Gold/Steam are supported.
Secondly, I need your installer version number.

Re: New install, instruments blurred, won't start, FSX crash
I am just running regular FSX with service pack 1 and pack 2 installed (acceleration), not Gold or Steam.
My email confirmation for purchase says this:
Your order consists of the following:
**********************************************
F-4E Multi-Installer Standard Edition x 1
**********************************************
I am guessing that is version 1? Not sure what version it is, but I didn't use any TacPack, etc. since I don't have TacPack.
However after purchase the downloaded installer file is this:
MilViz F-4E Phantom II vA1.170424_E.exe
Also, when I launched the MVAMS it said there is any update when I chose the F4E and asked if I wanted to install the update, which I did. Not sure if that means anything.

If you're using regular FSX with SP1 and SP2, this is not acceleration... Do you have the F/A-18 in your aircraft list?

No I do not have an F/A-18 at all.
I guess I don't have Acceleration.

Yep FSX SP2 doesn't support the required sim variables. Best bet is get FSX Steam.

Re: New install, instruments blurred, won't start, FSX crash
Ok, I got FXS Acceleration upgrade going.
Many of above issues fixed. Engines can start, system and FSX in general does not crash.
However, I still have blurred instruments or partially blurred instruments. Parking brakes will not release. Nosewheel steering is not happening, although all control surfaces, including rudder are moving around properly but not able to steer nosewheel on ground.
some instruments being half blurred on one side and clear on the other side is a bit annoying. Notice airspeed indicator is blurred on the right side and clear on left. Heading indicator is blurred all over as are other instruments and other parts of the panel are clear. Same for both back seat and front.

For the NWS, please read the manual. It tells you exactly how to deal with that.
For the blurries, it looks like you may have some VAS issues. Perhaps lowering your settings and disabling mipmapping...

For blurries he actually needs to set Global texture size in his graphics settings to max.
