F4 Int lights refuse to work despite everything. Plz help.
F-4E Advanced Series Addon x 1

"Per Osh,"Lowly minion" "Post on forums so our enginners can sort it out."
--------------------------------------------------
I found a few post and tried everything I could find PERTAINING TO INT LIGHTING.
Never had the interior lights work since the F4 was 1st released. Landing lights, all exterior lights appear to operate but never the interior.
Applied updates as they came out but each time it would ctd apon loading so I always reverted back to 1.161 iirc.
Tried 170424 , it ctd apon loading so I reverted again back to the ORIGINAL.
In desperation I JUST PURCHASED the advanced model and it loads and I got in a few flight. But STILL no interior lights. Yes, I moved the time to verify it was night. Unless there is a secret switch I tried every one I could find on the right/rear lighting area. Even tried "L" whcih only effects the landing light.
Latest VER p3d, W 10 latest ver, running, installed as admin, P3D run as Admin, everything runs as admin and AV off and during install.Estonia tool off.
Really out of ideas on this one. Any ideas???
Thanks, James in SC

Did you have av off when you downloaded it? Did you make your sim directory off limits to the av? Uac is off?

Hi james,
Digging through my old download I see this email but have ZERO downloads. Either expired or none left. Please email me the file again.
As is I have deleted and just reinstalled 170424 and the the advanced F4. I just tried it and NO night lighting. All I can do is start from scratch and verify the AV is OFF and then install each in order. Please email the files. Thanks. Jim
BTW- THIS IS THE ONE I THE LINK IS DEAD AND SAYS CONTACT YOU. WHile you are at it... What is the ORDER in which to install these downloads?
We would like to inform you that we have completed an update for the F-4E.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This is a significant update, with the following fixes / changes applied:
1: CTDs in P3D versions resolved
2: CTD due to hardware mappings from the AMS resolved
3: AMS hardware mapping system revised so that axis commands are now fully functional along with the Flap Set commands
4: Radar BEACON mode now operational with PPI WIDE/NARROW modes
5: OFFSET bombing mode and TGT FIND modes now operational
6: Cursor Freeze, Target insert, and Cursor Reset controls added to the AMS for OFFSET bombing mode
7: Animation error on torque links on landing gear corrected
8: Various texture bugs corrected
9: Gunsight materials corrected for low visibility conditions
10: Corrupted textures on startup due to cockpit lighting system corrected
11: AMS Updater system introduced for ease of hotfix updates

Ok lets work through things one by one:
First of all, let us solve the CTD issue with the 170424 build. Only then can I help you resolve the lighting, not to mention you are going to experience problems with the ADV version installed without having the 170424 build.
So please install it, let it crash, and then send me the crash report along with a description of what happened at the time of the crash.

The order in which you install is as follows:
The main 170424 installer (it is a couple hundred MB in size so there is no mistaking it)
Then the 170424 TACPACK F-4E (if you have it, otherwise ignore)
Then the 170426 ADV.

170424 is not crashing.Last night I got the advanced. No crashing and no int lights.
So per your sugg I just uninstalled using the 170424 installed and then per the directions installed it. Immediately installed the Advanced ver. It loaded, flew a few circuits. Changed to night. No lights. I get ext lights, landing lights and warnig lights test.
Only thing I cannot be 100% sure of if is the 170424 was DOWNLoaded with AV off. But I am sure they were installed with Norton off.
S o only thing I cannthink of trying is to get you to send me a fresh copy of 424 and I can download it and make sure AV is OFF.
I dunno your call.

Did you turn the lights on using the knobs on the right hand console? (just asking)...

Ok now that that is out of the way, lets move on to the next step. Please confirm that there is a MV_F4E_NL.exe in your task manager Processes list when running the F-4E.

Please confirm that there isn't a FSX.exe in your task manager processes list.

Yes there was. I killed it and the the int lights appear to be working but I will need to check them all.
I verified that the migration tool was OFF and it has been for many days. I need to find out why its running. I understand the tool does put a fsx.exe in p3d.
Well. it does appear I have lighting at least red. THANKS for your time and let me do some flying and see what I have.
Thanks again.
