F-4E FSX problems after download

Post by orthodontic » Wed Nov 02, 2016 10:01 am

I have checked all possible errors, downloaded the file once more from the email-link (no firewall,antivirus,etc.) installed as administrator and what I receive are allways the same errors, which are: no animation of throttle, flight stick and many gauges like autopilot are not operative, no ACM, no pilots, two liveries dont show up. Has anyone experience in such issues and could give me some advice to fix the bugs. I never had such problems before. FSX is running well with fixed 30 FPS. With what I got I can fly and land the F-4E but IFR or specific load-outs aren't able.

GeForce GTX750Ti
Win7Prof 64Bit
RAM 16

with kind regards

Will investigate. Seems like the J model in the E got corrupted somehow.

Dear Jonathan,
what is most annoying that ACM doesn't show up. So I can't figurate the airplane. HSI, throttle and rudder control stick don't move in VC. May be that the J and S models where removed from F-4E pack after introduction of the new navy pack with J and S models. I downloaded several times and tried to install with all the needed precautions. I observed that before installation you have to click:delete the old version first, but the installer doesn't do it. I had to surch manually for all the files to eliminate them. May be the installer is corrupt? I am really curious about how we can fix the bugs.
best wishes

@bugdani are you referring to the corrupted external J model, or are you having problems with the cockpit controls not working either?

@orthodontic Are you running FSX Acceleration/Gold or are you running FSX Steam?

Dear friends,
first of all: thank you for your interest. I decided to download the Milviz F-4E for its variaty of models, including some navy liveries. Too bad that they dont work.
But the main problem affects all models. Many gauges dont work. ACM doesn't show up! No radios. I can't enter frequencies. Most buttons make a click but dont reakt, move or turn. In my case manuals dont help if I can't click the right button. The functions are minimal and the F-4E like a simple freeware plain to fly.
I have FSX Gold Edition. Just tried several times to download without issues but had no success. I have finished, my scraps of knowledge no help at all.
best wishes

@orthodontic that tells me you are missing a library needed by the system. Go to your control panel->Administrative Tools->Event Viewer->Windows Logs->Application and see if there are any errors after trying to run the F-4E in the sim. Post the error reports here. Hang in there, the functions will come for you yet.

Hi Jonathan,
Thank you for your engagement. The more investigation the more questions. There are no messages at the event log when starting the sim. But there is a continuouse report: event ID: 10. Is this relevant?
I never changed things on my computer or looked at event viewer, for all was running well. Therefore I get it a bit slowly. Pleas apologize.
I am curious to hear your reply.

Can you post a screenshot of the event viewer?

Dear Jonathan,
I'm not shure that this screenshot will help, but here it is:
screenshot.jpg
screenshot.jpg (173.49 KiB) Viewed 2996 times
In the gauge folder one of 3 files is: MV_F4E_ACM.dll 1533KB. In FSX is a Milviz folder with nothing inside.
In the F-4E panel cfg is :
[Window00]
Background_color=159,159,159
size_mm=820,459
window_size_ratio=1.000
sizeable=0
position=0
visible=1
ident=70
render_3d_window=0
window_size= 0.416, 0.3658
window_pos= 0.2, 0.2

gauge00=MV_F-4_ACM!MV_F4E_ACM, 10,10,800,439

But when I click Shift+1 appears a grey square in spite of ACM.

Something is wrong with your event viewer as it doesn't look anything like it should (although the german makes it hard for me to follow).

So lets work by process of elimination.

Please download and unpackage this into a temporary folder. Then run the dxsetup.exe found in that temporary folder.

If the F-4 still doesn't work, try running this:

Dear Jonathan,
I write you this message for the second time because I was locked out before submit. I feel like Sisyphos. Well I downloaded your link and installed the first without changes. I have already C++2008 x64 10.0.
and C++ 2015(x84) 14.0. I think I am actual. Of course my version of win7_64 is german and it is tricky too for me to find the corresponding expressions. Event= Ereignis and the ID-numbers are international.
I agree that there is nothing of interrest. I suggest to look on the dlls because I have only problems with this download. What do you think off?
My path to event viewer: control panel/system&security/ administration/ eventv..

That doesn't look like the correct path. What version of Windows are you using?

The Exact path is Control Panel->Administrative Tools->Event Viewer. Or do a search for the exact words "Event Viewer" from your start menu. Then open the Windows Logs folder, and select Application (the first one I believe). That will give you the list of events to look at. Should look something like this although I have no events in my list at the moment.

Dear Jonathan,
it is all right with the path, but it is a different german layout . Do you have any suspicion that the shown errors have some influence on the issue, I will show you all registered details .
My version is: win 7 prof SP1 64BIT NVIDIA GeForce 750 Ti DX11 Driververs.:358.91

If you look in that picture I posted, the information that would be in the General tab or the details below is what would tell me when something is relevant. Any references to the MV_F-4E_Sys.dll or fsx.exe would let me know what is happening.
