Problems with new update???
I downloaded the new update after receiving notification from my vendor and loaded it. Everything was looking good until I jumped into the back seat and the cockpit looked like a retro version of a 16 bit color cockpit. I thought maybe it had been something I did when loading it but ruled that out when I got the same results in the P3D version. I uninstalled it and reinstalled my older version and everything went back to normal. I can only guess a possible issue with a video driver but mine are up-to-date (NVidia GTX970). The forward cockpit looks fine except a small area around the edge where the canopy seals. The rear cockpit totally looks like an 8 or 16 bit color palette. Any ideas?

Re: Problems with new update???
I had the same problem but it went away after I deleted the contents of the shaders folder. I can't imagine why that made a difference because this was the first installation of the Phantom on a system that had no previous installation of the Phantom in any form. Maybe it was just luck, but you might try it.........

Turn one of the cockpit lighting switches in the back on and off like the white flood light.

Re: Problems with new update???
Hi all,
Silentsage, I deleted all of my shaders and restarted the sim but got the same issue. Can you tell me exactly which folders you deleted so I can make sure I found the correct folders?
Johnathan, I tried turning various cockpit lights on/off but that also had no effect.
Observation...As previously stated, this problem presents itself in both FSX and P3D with the new version. I have tested this. If I return to the previous version everything returns to normal.
Question...I run Reshade in FSX and P3D, has something changed in the new version that might be incompatible with it?
I hope you can see the problem, I attempted to attach pictures that show my issue.

Were you testing the lights in the front cockpit or the rear?

Hi,
I don't know whether or not to start another support question for the same issue but I add to this.
All appeared good in Prepar3d v3.4 with latest update until today. I installed it shortly following its and all appeared good until today whilst flying from the front seat and do not remember pressing any keyboard of JS buttons then all of a sudden the front cockpit turned to similiar to above screenshots. I remember hearing a click then the graphics changing. I switched to rear cockpit which appeared normal. This appears to be the reverse of above issue. After switching HDR off and full sizing window back and forth and changing various graphics settings no difference to both cockpits ie rear good and front strange graphics.
I have restarted the sim and both cockpits are good at the moment.
btw this is a great aircraft. Very well done both iside and out
Cheers,
gibo

Re: Problems with new update???
Hi again,
Hope it doesn't hurt to bump this thread. I just downloaded the new version MilViz_F-4_Phantom_II_E_vA1.161120.zip from SimMarket.com. Thought I'd give it a try again but still ANY version higher than my original download
(MilViz_F-4_Phantom_II_E_vA1.160306.zip) gives me the same results as shown in the pictures above. It should be understood that my original version has NEVER been improperly displayed in either FSX or P3D, something changed after that version. Any version that included the new menu manager has not worked (and that does not say I'm putting blame on the menu manager for a display problem, it's just an observation). Again, my original purchase which was version vA1.160306 has NEVER had an issue in either FSX or P3D. Any time I load a version later than vA1.160306 the issue appears and is a solid fail in both FSX and P3D. Sure would like the new versions to be completely trouble free like my original download, I'm missing out on those new updates because I can only get vA1.160306 to work without issue. Thanks for any help.

Please confirm whether you tried the lighting controls in both the front and rear cockpits. They are separated.

Yes I tried both, then and now, but the problem remains. Once the update is applied (installed) the above screenshots are the result no matter what. When I remove the update and install the original version all is dandy, no errors.

Then leave it.
The update is only for P3D users.

I'm using the F-4 in both FSX and P3D and would like to take advantage of the updates, even if only for P3D.Krazycolin wrote:Then leave it.

For me this is not a random problem that comes and goes. This should make it better to isolate the problem. In my situation the problem is fixed, constant. There are not that many updated versions, if it doesn't have the problem in one version but it suddenly appears in another then there must be a way to decipher the differences between versions and track this down, something obviously has changed between versions. I'm willing to work with someone to try things and isolate this bugger, I can only ask for help.

Re: Problems with new update???
Hi,
Thanks for wanting to help. I work Monday through Saturday. I go in late one day a week around 1100 until 1730 all other days I go in at 0900 (Eastern). I work Saturdays 0830 till 1230. My time off is limited to Sundays and when I get off on Saturday. I know that may not be optimal for a get together. I have a day off coming up for a doctors appointment that might provide an opportunity. I'd be glad to help in any way I can. If the holidays make it inconvenient for anyone I can wait until a better opportunity is available.
