F4 J/S crashes on startup and close

I have the F4 J/S installed into P3D v3.

Every time I start up P3D with the F4 as the default aircraft P3D crashes.
If I start up any other aircraft all is well.
If, after starting up with a different aircraft I switch to the F4, all seems to work well.
When I come to exit P3D with the F4 selected P3D crashes. Again this dosent happen.

Is there anything I can do to combat this?

The F-4 is not designed to be a default aircraft. It is NOT a good idea to start the default flight with such complex aircraft. Better use something else.
