FSX crashes with the F-4

Post by victor echo » Sun Sep 04, 2016 6:43 pm

Hi,

Each time I use the F4-E, FSX crashes (about 10 minutes). I can hear (but not read) a lot of Windows alerts and the screen freezes. Then I have to press CTRL+ALT+DEL to end FSX.
I 've got others add-ons: REX, GEX, PMDG T7 & 737. No problem, no crashes. I 've got the Milviz F-15: no problem except strange holes in the landscape (at least one time).

What did I do ? Downloaded and installed again while Kaspersky stopped, run as administrator. Kasperky detects 3 Trojans in the Milviz files. It's a little bit worrying but I set Kaspersky to ignore this.

The Milviz f-4 version is: VA1.160306E. I didn't find updates on your forum.
My system: Windows 7-64 SP1, video card DX11 compatible, RAM 8 GB

Thank You for your help. Sorry for my poor english.

Try unzipping this to your gauges folder and see if that has any change. The Trojans are false positives more than likely involving the cockpit lighting.

I've installed the dll in the Gauges folder.
1st flight: no problem but in case of aircraft crash, FSX ends (CTD)
2nd flight: a lot of messages I can hear but not read. The screen is frozen but when I switch the view, I can hear than it changes.
3rd flight: I set FSX in the window view, in order to read the messages. So FSX displays:
Error encountered
Unable to find file
Full error code 0x2
File SimObjects /airplanes/Milviz Phantom II/sound/aimtone.wav (and 9 other .wav files missing)

You sure you are running FSX as admin? Right click on your FSX exe and select properties->compatibility and make sure Run this program as admin is checked.

Yes from the beginning I run FSX "as administrator".
Each new add-on also.

If you follow the path to those sound files, do they show up in the folder even though the sim says they are missing?

They are really missing in the folder also.
Total: 82 sound files, most of them are "J79-x"
Nothing about aim(...) or i_sam_(...) or this kind of files (maybe missiles sounds connected to the dll you sent me ?)
The F-4E crashed FSX (freezes) before this new errors. Is it two different issues ?

You are not running the TACPACK version?

I don't know. I downloaded the Justflight version as I wrote above, version "MilViz_F-4_Phantom_II_E_vA1.160306"
I don't own Tacpack.

Unzip these into your F-4's sound folder.

No more FSX crash during Milviz flights. It's better with the missing files but not over.
- CTD in case of crash with the F-4E (because of MSVCR90.dll)
- CTD or freeze when I jump from a Milviz F-4 or F-15 into another plane. No problem when I do it from a non-Milviz to a non-Milviz or a non-Milviz to a Milviz. Only crashes from a Milviz to another one. Strange... I'm going on testing again. Anyone is got an idea about his ?

MSVCR90 is usually a permissions issue. Something on your system (what windows version are you using?)

I use windows 7 64 bits sp1. All updates done.
Some errors are because of API.dll and others because of MSVCR90.dll but always with Milviz (sorry). I'm unlucky.

First off, you should absolutely be up to date on your windows 7 install. I believe that it's at least SP2 now...
