Phantom F4E problem with crashing out

Post by bob.hewitt » Tue Feb 19, 2019 10:03 am

Hello @Milviz, ref to earlier e-mail there is no error report when the Phantom F4E crashes out, just a black screen. Sometimes I must reboot as the screen remains black and sometimes the screen returns normal without flight simulator.

Problem: After downloading and selecting application, I get the following warning in blue colour (it comes in German language because my PC settings are German) which means in English THE PC HAS BEEN PROTECTED BY WINDOWS. WINDOWS DEFENDER SMARTSCREEN HAS PREVENTED THE START OF AN UNKNOWN APP. EXECUTING THIS APP MIGHT/COULD BE A RISK FOR THE PC.

I usuallY click on DOWNLOAD ANYWAY; then the F4E goes into FSXSE select aircraft, however when I select (FLY NOW) it selects, comes in. then crashes and blacks out.

Can you help?

It sounds like your Windows Defender is blocking the installer from working properly. You tried turning it off for the moment of install?

Hi Jonathan, I uninstalled Windows Defender but to no avail. After trying to download the Phantom again, I have the same problems. I have already read the manual, I don't even come to the point of even try to start the Phantom. Please could you give further information. Thanks for your help. Bob

Please go to your sim directory and right click on the sim1.dll. Go to properties, details, and post the version number please.

In your main sim folder, there is a folder called Gauges. Unzip the file in the link to that location, overwriting the MV_F-4E_Sys.dll that is already there.

jonothan firstly i do not have drop box and do not want to install it secondly iam not of ayoung age and so i find it hard to operate the ins and outs of fsx and fsxse.ipay for a download in expectation it will function for that is what i paid for. i realize that sometimes there can be difficulties however the time i have waited to fly the fe4e has run my patience to zero. you have all at milviz been very professional and help it is well appreciated. having said that imust conclude enough is enough. i will ask just flight for a refund but hopefully i will be able to purchase the product direct from you without hitch in a short time. thank you all at milviz for your help will purchase shortly

You don't need an account at dropbox. You should be able to download straight from that link that I sent.

Do you have both FSX Acceleration and Steam on your computer?
