Honestly, If I delete the '/' assignment for the spoilers in Prepar3D, and set it up as a keyboard assignment for the same function in AMS - I still can't get the speedbrake out.

Alright! They are working now. One more restart, followed by setting up all my controls in AMS again. Whew...

**I spoke to soon... that didn't survive loading another a/c and then coming back to the Phantom.

I wouldn't recommend repeatedly switching aircraft. Rather restart the simulator. That said, something is messed up with your control system. I have to wonder if the Saitek profiler or FSUIPC is at fault. Also, can you show me your P3D settings where you choose between Raw input and DirectInput?

Screenshot attached.

I didn't use FSUIPC before yesterday. It's funny. Mapping the speedbrake to either a key or button... when viewed externally I can see the brake just barely move but then it retracts again. That's all I can get now. I have delete any key/button/axis assignment that has anything to do with a spoiler.

You don't possibly have a button assigned to something else in P3D for speedbrake that might be interfering? Or maybe a button being pressed constantly that causes the conflict?

I'm not sure. This was my thought as well... just sitting down for playtime and will be working through the button / key assignment list more thoroughly.

Up and running (again).

To be honest I have solely focused on the "J" so as to learn one model's nuances before moving onto the next. After checking all of the keyboard assignments in P3D, I restarted my computer and then loaded AMS for the "S". After I did that, I ran the sim with the "S" and the speedbrake worked incrementally, based on the button assignments I had made.

Then, I exited P3D and AMS, then restarted AMS. I selected (once again) buttons for incremental use of the speedbrakes. These bindings did not work but the previous ones I set up for the "S" model did? I don't know... too much time spent on this. I was under the impression that AMS worked "on the fly"... how else could you use it to change radio frequencies? I seem to have better luck exiting the program if I need to change things, however. I just RTFM and didn't see any notes to this regard.

Thanks,

Stephen

The channels involved in the AMS are preset and will only take effect once you restart the sim. If you want to change certain channels on the fly (the non AUX channels), you can set manual frequencies on the radio and push the Set Chan button and then use the channel selector.
