Please understand it is not a case of refusal to support. To give you an idea, lights were simply not functioning anything like the real aircraft and I redid them in such a way as to make them match the real aircraft functionality as well as work in multiplayer. But in order to get the cartridge starter effect to work, I have to work within some confines of the FSX/P3D effect system and that is why using the L key is not an option for turning on lights. The L key is going to interfere with internal systems as well so the best suggestion I can give you is to assign the L key to the external lights master switch in the AMS and set your light control switches in the cockpit to on every time you fly. Only then will the L key be of use for making the lights actually appear.

Thanks for your response. I am trying to take what you said/explained all in and from what I understand, the "L" key is not to be used in your version of the F4 Phantom therefore, and as a workaround,
assign a lights on/off key in your MVAMS program to do this. I am just saying that I manged to get the light on in the previous version using "L" key (as is the standard/norm) for other aircraft, as it worked.
That lead me to believe that something was wrong when in this latest and greatest version that something was amiss when i used the L key and the thing looked like it was catching on fire. I am retired
Navy Viet-Nam vet and have previous experience with REAL F4B/J aircraft (I was a bomb loader - Aviation Ordnanceman) and I can tell you that the only thing the F4B/J used cartridges for was for the
AIM 7 sparrows, I had to insert two cartridges in each of the four Sparrow launchers. We didn't use cartridges to start the airplane, a huffer was used to spool up the J-79's. Been there done that and
yes, got the T Shirt and Viet-nam hat that I wear when I go shopping at Wal-Mart.

True the huffer is preferred but nonetheless the aircraft was still capable of starting with the "shotgun" cartridges sans the huffer.

If you open the load manager (Shift-1) the lower right has a light bulb. Press it and is lights on. If you want more realism, look at the right panel about were your elbow would be if you were sitting in the plane. All light switches are there, including a white flood light.

I believe he is using the L key for exterior lights not the interior.

Stop using the L key. Use the knobs on the right console. That's what they're there for.
This is a simulation...

Feel free to use whichever version you but, using the L key may well disable or even mess up the proud team in ways we can't predict.... or support
As well, support is only given to the latest versions for obvious reasons.
