You can try that certainly.

This is incredibly frustrating. I uninstalled and reinstalled. Now it remembered 1 of the settings but it doesn't work. Also, now the radar cursor won't move up and down. It will move left and right but opposite to the joystick assignment. This happened with the pitch trim too. Everything about the AMS and Tacpack add on seems so wonky!

Can you send screenshots of your AMS settings for the cursor and trim, as well as saying how you want them to behave?

Also what setting isn't working though it remembers it?

Radar Lock.JPG
Even with the joystick assignment sometimes RADAR LOCK doesn't work. The keyboard command does.

It seems to be remembering the radar cursor assignments not but not Radar Elevation Axis. It also gets the UP/DOWN/LEFT/RIGHT reversed sometimes.

Ok first of all, either use the Radar Lock command and leave the half action and full action commands blank, or use the full action and half action commands, leaving the lock command blank.

Also, my fault for not anticipating this but the text on the buttons is too long to see what key is for what command in order to solve the inversions. Could you state which buttons they are? I am familiar with the warthog although I don't own one.

I uninstalled everything and reinstalled the latest F-4E, J and S then installed the new Tacpack module.

I uninstalled Tacpack and reinstalled it too. I set the Radar Lock and Elevation in AMS. Elevation seemed to work but the radar wouldn't lock. I closed AMS and reopened it and it had forgotten both of those settings. Other settings work fine. I noticed that the Tacpack popup window where you can select bomb type, release altitude, range etc doesn't do anything. I can't change any settings. Don't know if that's related?

I think I found the elevation problem. Will check further. These things slip under as I don't have a HOTAS.

Ok first of all, you don't need to worry about the axis settings as they are actually being remembered and loaded. The code that updates the button text was not being called on startup though. That is now fixed in dev.
The last control in the list was also not being loaded which may have had a part to play in the button swapping. That said, it was being written to the file and I should think was loaded by the gauge. Double checking that though.

Now the only concern then is the swapping buttons.

Can you replicate this reliably?

I hadn't noticed any pattern. It just happened yesterday as a matter of fact but it doesn't always do it. I tried the F-4F and left AMS open after setting the joystick settings. Radar lock worked but the cursor controls and elevator trim were backwards. I'll see if I can replicate the problem.

I tried running AMS, making the settings, saving and keeping it open. When I flew the phantom it opened Cold and Dark when it should have been running. I started it and the radar cursor wouldn't move, the radar elevation didn't work and the elevator trim was backwards. I shut down, ran AMS (right click and "Run as Administrator"), closed ams, started flight sim and everything seemed to work except radar elevation. This afternoon I ran AMS as administrator, changed radar elevation from the axis control to one of the hat switched on the throttle, closed AMS and opened Flight Sim. The plane started Cold and Dark again but after starting the radar cursor worked but reversed again! Pitch trim worked correctly but still no radar elevation.

I've noticed this as well with CH equipment. I seem to be able to keep my assignments saved until I try to assign the mini stick on my throttle to radar cursor axes. Once I click save as default and close the program then go back into it half of my button assignments have been erased and the two functions assigned to mini stick axes are blank but If I click on them they show the previously mapped axes.

I will have a HOTAS soon with which I will be able to resolve this problem.

Hi,

Just to add I have also some problems with the AMS.

I have too a Warthog.

-So, I noticed some enter in Controller/Joysticks work and some other don't.
Example : I affected the Radar Missile Select/Gun Select/Heat Missile Select and Heat Reject respectively to a 4 positions button on my Throttle. The result is just one position works, the three other don't.
However the 2 Engines 1/2 Master and the 2 Engines 1/2 Start are assigned to 4 different switches. The result is working perfectly...
-Sometimes a command is assigned at two events at the same time. If I correct/erase one, the other is affected
-Last but not least the Radar Warmup (3 Minutes) option is never saved.

The only solution at this time for me is to affect command via Keyboard (seems no problem with this option) then the Warthog via Fsuipc.

In the AMS I have the Cessna 310R, the F100D and the F-4 E/J/S

Regards,
Richard

Hello,
I'm having the same problem as originally reported. I installed the most current installer (MilViz F-4E Phantom II vA1.170424_E.exe). After installing, I ran MVAMS and it notified me of an update (of which I installed). Several settings will not "take" on first attempt. I map my button, then "SAVE", then "SAVE Defaults." In some cases after several tries and starts of P3D it will "take." In many other attempts, it assigns a button already assigned to another function. I am using the current version of P3D V3.4; a TM WARTHOG; and no other MILVIZ addon loaded. Thoughts? Thanks in advance.

Neal
