No more working Milviz Phantoms in P3Dv4.4
I am completely confused about what Milviz Phantoms will work and not work in P3Dv4.4
I updated P3Dv4.3 to P3Dv4.4 and updated Tacpack to the the P3Dv4.4 compliant edition. P3Dv4.4 is for me so superior to
4.3, I am not going back.
I have the F4E Base with Tacpack and the F4J/S Advanced, both purchased from Milviz store. Both CTD'd upon loading after
these P3Dv4.4 and Tacpack updates.
I read in the forums here that that the F4J/S Advanced should work in 4.4 without updates, so I tried uninstalling/re-installing
using the J/S ADV installer I got from last January. That was a mistake: it completely removed the J/S from the sim (no J/S folder
at all in SimObjects). And trying to run the J/S installer in the MVAMS folder produces an error message that MVAMS can't be opened.
I have so many J/S Base installers from various times, I can't figure out which ones to try using to re-install the Base J/S.
So what now? I'm kind of discouraged. Maybe it's best to just write off the Milviz Phantoms and walk away...

Re: No more working Milviz Phantoms in P3Dv4.4
Hi Bob
Basically in a nutshell, all Phantoms will require the ADV(Advanced) packages to work. In the F-4J/S, the ADV is combined with TACPACK, with the F-4E, it is separate. We will be offering a highly discounted version of it for those who don't have it.
Now since you have the J/S ADV, it *should* work on your v4.4. Since you have uninstalled, I will get Osh to get you the latest installers.
As for the MVAMS error, I would need to see a screenshot of it. If it is the previously known error about the radiof.mlvz file, that is a simple fix where you go to the MVAMS location (right click on the shortcut and open file location), go to the configurations folder\F4J and F4S folders and delete both of the radio.mlvz files.
As for being discouraged, that's why we are here
. Ask for help and you shall receive it.

Re: No more working Milviz Phantoms in P3Dv4.4
Thanks Jonathan. I got the links from Osh. Uninstalling and re-installing the Base and ADV packs got the F4 J/S working in
P3Dv4.4 . The E will have to wait for an upgrade to the ADV pack.
As for the MVAMS error message, I don't get it anymore when I try and run the F4J app in the Downloads sub-folder
in the MVAMs folder. I just get the download ready to go.
There is an error message log in MVAMs from that date, but from memory, it doesn't seem to be the message I got. Anyway,
the log states:
[UpdateProc][2018-12-21 15:14:55Z]
An exception occured attempting to update the Milviz Addon Management System. Exception text:
System.Net.WebException: The request was aborted: Could not create SSL/TLS secure channel.
at System.Net.HttpWebRequest.GetResponse()
at MVAMS.MainWindow.UpdateProc()
No URL for the updater was found.
I don't know if that message is relevant or not. But as said, everything seems to be working ok now. Maybe I was just
banging away at too many things too quickly trying to get the F4 J/S to work.
Thanks again and Merry Christmas to all!
