Parking Brake Release and Wing Stores Jettison INOP

Post by Duckie » Thu Oct 26, 2017 7:27 pm

Sorry if this has been covered but I couldn't find it here.

My F-4J (NON-TacPack) is updated to the latest version v ia MVAMS for FSXA. After the last update the parking brake will not release and the wing stores jettison (position selector and red button lower left panel) do not function. For the Parking brake I've tried both the mouse, keyboard command ("period") and the mapped joystick button but no joy.

The Jettison button worked flawlessly before the update but not now. Using the mouse the panel selector rotates and the the red jett button depresses but the ordinance does not release.

As far as I can tell all other functions that I use work properly.

Thanks for any help,

Steve

What in particular are you trying to jettison? The S/J is a bit different from the E.

Hi Jonathan, I load any type of dropable ordinance in order to get the visual of the pylons, then jettison all wing stations. The ordinance goes but the pylons stay and I go flying. This process has worked perfectly up until this last update. I have a few saved flights in this config and they load up just fine. But if I load up anything from the FSX menu I get a bare wings F-4. I then load up it from scratch but then jett doesn't work.

Typically I load a center line tank, Sidewinders and napalm canisters. This load out gives a very common and typical pylon config. As I stated earlier, previous updates the jettison function would remove all ordinance, including sidewinders, and leave the pylons.

Note, I do not use/fly the "E". I fly "J" only.

you're trying to jettison while on the ground?

Not using the menu system to clear the loadout?

That's correct. It's worked each time before until now. But jettison does not work airborne either, now.

well, first off, you should not be using Jettison to remove your loadouts... you should use the menu and the clear method... jett on the ground would "kill" you.

I'll let Jon get back to you on the rest (tmrw or sunday...when he's back)

So far it was the only way I know of to ditch the ordinance but leave the pylons. If there's another way I'll be happy to use that!

Thank you both for the speedy replies.

Right click on the Clear option. That will put the inner pylons on.
