Crash with FSX Stean vA1.170721_E

Post by JonBailey » Sun Sep 10, 2017 6:50 am

Hello Jonathan

I downloaded the latest version of the F-4 E v170721_E and I get a immediate crash to desktop after hitting the fly now button. I saw that there was a update to the F-4 via the MVAWS and installed it, and when I click the fly now button sometimes FSX will load to 80% and crash. Other times it will load to the virtual cockpit and after 10 seconds of the spinning wheel it will crash to desktop. I am installing it the way that you prescribe firewall off and virus protection turned off.
I use Windows 10, and there are no error logs in the event viewer under applications

I also have the ADV module and just purchased the TP module today
IF I revert back to build vA1.170424_E and let MVAWS update, the aircraft loads fine, and works great. I can install the ADV module and that works great. I can fly around as much as I want.

Tonight I tried to install the TP module vA1.170721_ETP and I get a immediate crash to desktop when I hit the fly now button .

I uninstalled everything
Reinstalled the F4 va1.170721_E with the MVAWS update and Just the TP module and it crashed to desktop instantly after the fly now button

I can only fly version vA1.170424_E and the ADV module..

The latest build with the update, nor the TP module work. Nor can I produce a error in the crash log
I do run FSX Steam as Adminstrator , along with MVAWS .

I did send proof of purchases to Oisin in to get access to the other forums but thought I would post here first.

Thank you for the help.

Please run the base installer first (170721_E) and then run the MVAMS update. Then run the 170721_ETP. Then run the 170830_EADV installer. You got the order of install sorely incorrect. I would suggest a complete uninstall and reinstall of the Phantom.

Hi Jonthan

Tried that yesterday and again this morning. It drops to desktop just after hitting the fly now button. There is no status bar loading into the game. Just a black screen, the blue spinning wheel, and drops to desktop. And no error log.

The only way I can use the phantom, is by rolling back to the vA1.17024_E either alone or with the ADV module. no tacpack module

If I try the latest build v170721_E alone , Or with TP vA1.170721_ETP and the ADV module v1.117830_EADV . I get crash to desktop with no error log. After I hit fly now, I get the black screen, no status bar, blue spinning wheel and drops to desktop.

I used cccleaner to clean up the registry, I even tried it on fresh install of FSX steam this morning, with the phantom being the only addon.

Is there maybe a earlier version of TP I could try?

Jon

No there isn't. My next question is did you run the AMS updates after installing 170721 but before installing TACPACK? That is a vital part. Don't try running the sim until you have installed the ADV.

So here is the steps I have tried

Re-installed vanilla FSX SE
installed just tackpack no super hornet
Installed F-4E vA1.170721_E let it update through MVAMS
Installed TP Module vA1.107721_ETP
Installed ADV module v1.17830_EDV

Started the FSX SE , selected the F-4 Edwards paint.
Selected yes to run the .dll's etc

And same result, hit Fly Now, black screen, blue spinning wheel and then it drops to desktop. Nothing in the event viewer

IF i uninstall all the above..

and just install F-4e vA1.1702424, alone it works. and I can add the ADV module to that build and that works.

The latest build for me, doesn't work.

Hope that helps Jonathan

FSX does creat a dump file when it crashes, in the main FSX directory. Not sure if that is helpful.

Another update
after doing the above steps
the latest build works fine F-4, TP, and Advance if I disable the tacpack module form loading at the start of FSX SE. I have it on prompt. I have the bomb computer, weapons can load static, and the ADV menu is visible.

So kinda chasing my tail here, I redownloaded both the F4, TP , ADV , and the VRS Tackpack again.

So something is conflicting in the TP module and the Milviz F4+TP+ADV

If I just install the F4 alone latest build with out Tackpack it still crashes to desktop right after you click Fly now. Black screen, spinning wheel, no logs in event viewer.

All the other 2 aircraft using TP and the Bug are working ok with TP module loaded. Just not the phantom.

But at least I can fly the latest build. With TP deactivated.

Hi Jonathan

Sorry for the late reply. It took a bit of time to get back up and running after hurricane Irma hit Florida.

My tacpack version is 1.4.3.4
