How to set correctly Weapons Release Computer Panel 2
Hi,
First, thanks for your help. I've got a lot of questions, and get always answer. Thanks.
The next one : I read all manual, but see nothing about how to set correctly value in panel 2 WRS Helper ?
a) Weapon Type : OK, clear
b) High Drag ? When shall we tick it ?
c) Release Altitude... Clear enough, but is there a rule anyhow or can we choose freely any one ?
d) Release Angle... clear
e) Target Altitude. No problem 100% clear
f) Release x-wind... Yep, not easy to find, but clear
but the worst :
g) Initial Target Distance ? What's that ? How to get it ? Hot to set it ?
Thanks
Cheers
Daniel

c) Any altitude will do as long as it is 1) high enough to allow time for the fuse of the bomb to arm, as well as avoid fragmentation and 2) low enough that the gunsight depression isn't going to be impossible to see.
g) Anything greater than your release distance. It is basically the point at which the weapons computer will start counting down to release. It is used only in Laydown bombing mode, as the other modes (Dive Toss/Dive Laydown) use the A-G radar range instead. With this value and your release altitude, you will get the gunsight depression angle in Mils. When flying at your release altitude, the moment your pip crosses the target is when you press the pickle button and the countdown begins. If you think of a right angled triangle, your pip depression angle is the angle between the vertical and the slant range line to your target from that altitude. This way the computer can figure out the distance to the target, and by extension the release point.
