F-86 Autopilot

Post by Adam » Mon Jun 17, 2019 1:56 am

I have heard that an Autopilot with F-86 is not possible, but as a new Pilot for the F-86

I am curious if the autopilot is possible as in I just want to fly it.

Afraid not. The FS AP is incompatible with the trim system.

Just curious as I am about to purchase the F-86, IS there ANY way to get ANY autopilot to just have a basic alt and heading hold? Perhaps a payware aftermarket deal or maybe autopilot code from another MILVIZ bird?

not so far as I know... just so you're aware... there wasn't one in the real deal either...

True, but you could also trim the real one out at 30,000 ft alot easier than this to hold altitude!

Well, you could just use keyboard commands to enable autopilot and altitude hold.

Not quite. The default autopilot is blocked because of the custom trim system.

Yes you can trim this one out at 30,000 ft as well. There is even a trim sensitivity slider in the Shift+2 popup for finer trim control adjustments.
