Blur needs more work. Notice tail rotor in pic below: This is what I'm trying to get out of it as far as tail rotor is concerned.

hHelikopter:
I sent you the Main and Tail Rotor PSD files. Check your messages.
I have several layers available in these. YOU DO NOT HAVE TO FLIP THESE EITHER. I made these based off of the dds files so they are already in the right orientation. Just flatten them after your done and save as dds.
Be sure to back up your original dds files too.
If you come up with something then let me know and send me back the files so I can try them in the sim.

Re: MD530F
yeah I've been building RC giant plane and helis since 1981. Never built any turbines though. And seeing how this one particular model has no constant drive to the tail rotor well that just shoots it down. Not worth a darn if you have to auto rotate. All my helis ever built had a constant tail rotor drive. Another thing is those blade warning marks. If you were to see that in person it would also look like a disk or solid rings. I know it's a model and everything is smaller but you'll also see this on some real helis based on the designs of the blade warning marks.
Take a look in the vids I posted above. Also the lighting itself can make a huge difference.
All in all Im not going to rack my brain with these rotors. All I wanted is more of a solid indication on the main blade tips. The tail rotor would be seen this way though because they spin at least at a 4 to 1 ratio to the main blades and are several times smaller in diameter so there won't be hardly any gaps in the blades on the tail rotor.
Thanks for the vid. These RC helis are always fun to watch and awesome to fly too.

The lines and contours are too strong. The rotorhub blur and effect isn't good either. The rotors are too thick. I've told Colin about the problem.

Take a look at an MD500, 530F video to see what it's like.

Re: MD530F
One thing you can do is also edit the file MD530_rotor_fade.dds On the alpha side of this file if you turn it down darker that will take out some of those pronounced blades that you see in the blur. Try it and you'll notice a huge difference in this part of the blur which then makes it look a lot more realistic.
There's 4 different files for the main rotor that have to work together to get it just right and two for the tail rotor.

we are going to be using Deep's rotor blurs for all the liveries.

I still tuning them and trying other solutions so I'll have those done soon. Got them to look a little more realistic then the other screens on page 17.
I'll be in touch.

Re: MD530F
Hey everyone!
I'm glad this will be fixed because it would totally ruin this otherwise great model. I don't think a colored stripe is necessary on the rotors, MD Helicopters only paints those on its newer helicopters to distinguish them from the older ones. The rotors are fine in plain black, blurred. People will paint them if they want them painted. The rotor effect of the MV 407 is flawless, the ends are nicely blurred. That's how the 530 should look like.

Re: MD530F
Hello! I've got a question: I've been looking for a photorealistic texture to replace the inside textures with, but it looks terrible when applied. This is how it looks in the simulator. It works on other models. Any ideas what could be the problem?
