Looking great! Why is the artificial horizon on the right hand side though? Doesn't the pilot in a 500 sit on the left hand side?

Most chopper pilots sit on the right. The md530 actually allows for both but it was felt that following the traditional placement was the way to go ..

ADI on the right side is a bit different for the MD 500 series. However, you can look at 12 different photos of MDs on websites like controller.com and aso.com and you will find almost 12 different gauge arrangements. Some even have Aspen PFDs on the left side.

Along with being almost the coolest sounding helicopter, the MD530F reminds me of one of those water rockets I used to have as a kid.

Ok fair enough :)

There's no chance of you including a config option to have it on the left is there? :p

Not in MDH 500/530 helicopters, the P in C should sit in the left seat. In fact the majority of these aircraft will only have controls on the left side and room for a 3rd person on a bench seat where the right side collective goes.

Every MDH 500 / 530 I have looked at or been in has been set up this way in my home country.

The Pilot sitting in the right seat is the reason I will never buy the Nemeth 500.

Please don't make it the reason I won't buy yours

coochb, what is the primary use for your MD's? Generally most can be flown by either side, but if the MD is used for say long line ops (slings), based on the cyclic/collective layout, it's more comfortable for the pilot to fly from the left seat while looking down.

I will be pleased with any configuration we get from Milviz.

I did some testing in the 500D mentioned before by Nemeth and mine
is now perfectly flyable from the left seat by modifying a small value in the

[CameraDefinition.002]
Title = "Pilot"

Change

InitialXyz = 0.0, 0.0, 0.0

to

InitialXyz = -0.7, 0.0, 0.0

Pan rate seems a bit stiff right now so I will play with those values as well.

Or in Virtual Cockpit hold ctrl-shift and tap backspace a couple of times until view is comfortable in the left seat.

He wants to have the ADI on the left. And the cyclic on the left too...

I am looking at this.

It looks like from the vc screenshots the cyclic is already at both seats??

Most MD 530's I have seen have the ADI on the left and cyclics at both seats. I would definitely like to see the ADI on the left as well if possible.

May I suggest a couple of repaints? These were my RC Helis from a long time ago. I think these designs make cool patterns and match any of the 500 style helicopters today in various color schemes as well.
