My vote = D)
I like the smoke and the early jet model classics but please don't go ape on that until the T-38C and F-15 Albinos are done!

Just make them old and dirty. Here is Old Grandad. The oldest flying KC-135 at the time (now retired) assigned to Carswell AFB, TX

Make it d, the A model! I flew 150 missions in one of those during the Viet Nam war. No GPS, but they all had the Collins fd109 avionics by 1972.

Re: The KC-135 Poll
Hi there!
Having been a AWACS crew member for years, I did get my share of aerial refuellings...and flying behind and below the KC-135E and R has always been a fabulous experience.
So if I would have to make up my mind, I would opt for a KC-135E model. It just looks soooooo cool!

Re: The KC-135 Poll
All hail the A-model which if u look at the data plate on the crew entry door it says model 717. Boeing had some explaining to do.
No one has done a good KC-135-EVER its time, as a former engine mechanic on A-R's and I did get to see the first R model built when I was TDY at Wichita................and was stationed at RAFB when they dismantled the 19th Bomb wing and it became then the 912th AREW where brand new R models with backwards wired fuel tank selector panel was received........on all of them.

Re: The KC-135 Poll
Forgive me if this is a daft question but how would you tank with it ? would you have AI planes that come in for a top off or would you have to be in multiplayer and someone joins you to fill up ?
I remember the old Lago Tornado came with a AI VC10 tanker, AFAIK no one ever succeeded in fueling off it ! closest I got was shoving my fuel probe into the jet pipe of one of the Conways !
Buster.

Try our F-15e. You can tank with it but its hard. Just like the real thing.

Re: The KC-135 Poll
So if you model the KC-135, as I see it, the only way it could be used to tank is by pre arrangement with someone else in multiplayer mode, rather limits things don't you think ? or am I missing something ? Tell ya what, scrub around the KC-135 and if you won't do a Tornado or a Lancaster, crack on with a Phantom package (GE & Spey variants) ........ happy days.
