SP2 and V4 compat. USE AT YOUR OWN RISK

Post by Krazycolin » Sat Jun 10, 2017 3:25 pm

Hi all,

We are giving you access to the latest (and, we hope, greatest) Beaver SP(2) so far.

This includes MANY MANY fixes:

P3D v4 support
winter and summer exhaust system available in the MVAMS
3D navigation and pulse lights
Additional customization of the Prop Lever and hydraulic governor on the propeller sets
Further revision of propeller and control variables
Dll and XML revisions
MVAMS.exe update
Tail wheel revisions for ground authority and animation
New Operating Manual
Minor fixes on the MV GPS units

Things to note:

The WXR will NOT work in v4 nor will any of your GTN addons. This isn't our fault.

Final note on the MV GPS units. These are fully unsupported, may cause (severe) FPS hits and are not guaranteed to function as the real items would.

You will have to (MUST) delete by hand the actual aircraft object folder for all other sims.

Any and all liveries that were added will be deleted so back them up first. You will have to add them to your aircraft cfg again. Sorry.

The updater does work so that should allow for new updates to be sent out without having to download a brand new installer.

AGAIN, USE AT YOUR OWN RISK.

Just tried it in v4:
Biggest problem I'm having is the sound doesn't seem to work right - maybe a difference in how v4 handles sound?
The sounds introduce a scratchiness at the higher rpm's that shouldn't be there and wont go away.
Went back and tried in v3 and all is good in case my sound system/ speakers had all of a sudden started acting up.
anything you suggest?
Thanks,
Bob

I used that downloaded exe and chose to uninstall the P3Dv3 version in the menu dialogue. The job then appears to get done within an instant, in fact it was still installed within P3Dv3. Yet the MVAMS doesn't show it installed anymore. I had to use the old 1.1.0.8 installer (which fortunately I had backuped) to uninstall the v3 Beaver. Just to let you guys know...

In FSXA uninstall after adding path worked fine.

Reinstall went fine everything appears to work ok.

Easily added my old repaints but please pay attention to the CFG file if you had added the GTN750 or other. The sound entry in the cfg file should also read sound=sound1.

Thank you to the team.A vast improvement all round.

Cheers Chris

Hi
Firstly thanks so much for updating the Beaver for P3dV4
At the end of the instillation process I received the following message.
I have also noted that I don't have a manifold pressure reading or engine temp readings

Thanks in advance if you can help.

You will need full admin rights to run the installers , DLL.xml is not in a new install of V4 , when the xml tools installer was trying to save a copy of dll.xml it was denied permission.

We can provide one, it can be manually added by the computer admin .

Hope this helps

Sound= used the 3 blade soundset Sound=1 is the twoblade prop , it changes upon selection in the MVAMS .

Are tooltips supposed to be working because I only have a few working like the landing lights and the coil.

It would be very usefull if we had a named switch diagram.

Cheers Chris

All switches have names printed on the panel , any knobs with frequency or direction indications have popup tooltips with the information at your fingertips (mouseover).

As the phrase states, that usually happens when P3D is installed as Admin or with Admin privileges and afterwards Win logs on with a different user.

Please check this thread:
viewtopic.php?f=137&t=7628

Follow those steps, replacing v3 with v4, and use this format in dll.xml:

<Launch.Addon>
<Name>XMLTools64</Name>
<Disabled>False</Disabled>
<ManualLoad>False</ManualLoad>
<Path>XMLTools64.dll</Path>
<DllStartName>module_init</DllStartName>
<DllStopName>module_deinit</DllStopName>
</Launch.Addon>

It must work fine after that.

Hi thanks for the reply
However I do have admin rights. I ran the installer again this time by right clicking and selecting run as administrator. Uninstalled the beaver first, then reinstalled still as administrator.
Unfortunately the same message came up
Can you give me an idea of where the DLL.xml file should be in P3D v4 and as you say supply one?
Please note
I have already installed several other add on with no issues including all the ORBX stuff PMDG 747 and 777 A2A 172 all with no problems
Also when I run the beaver then exit P3d V4 it reports an error which no other add on do. I am guessing it is down to the same problem.

Again
thanks in advance if you can help.

Hi
Thanks for the reply
I am the only user of the computer and do have admin rights
Can you give me an idea as to where this DLL.xml file should be?

Jind regards

Go to your user's AppData\Roaming\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v4 folder and check whether DLL.XML is present or not.

There's a diagram in the Manual - page 18. I'm also not seeing tooltips on certain parts, so i guess that's a bug?
